Soon....

We're still waiting for AF to arrive so that we can begin our FET. According to my calendar, she should be arriving this weekend. I've been really crampy ALL week, so I think she'll be here soon. I've never been more excited for a period to come!

On a sad note, my grandpa passed away this afternoon. He was a wonderful man, and he will be greatly missed. I know he's holding our little baby in his arms right now. Thank you all for your prayers.

Grandpa's Girl

No baby-making news to report. Still waiting for AF to arrive one more time. Then it's a "go" for our FET. We can't wait.

I'm going to get a little off topic on this post and discuss my grandpa. He turned 81 last July, and he's the only grandpa I've ever had. When I was a child, he always seemed so "no nonsense" and a little scary. My parents would take my younger brother and I to our grandparents' house for one week during the summer since my grandpa was retired. Grandma still worked, and she would get up every morning to get herself ready. I would wake up and go into the bathroom where she was, and I would always beg her to not go to work. I didn't want to stay at the house with grandpa. Grandpa was mean.

Of course, he really wasn't "mean". He would take my brother and me to swim in the lake, bowling, to McDonalds for lunch, and even to the children's museum. He was just an older man. He had raised his children and was more strict than my parents. I loved him, but I was also a little scared of him.

As I grew up, I developed a stronger relationship with my grandpa. I'm not his only grand-daughter, but I am the only one that lives close by. I became his "monkey" and he would always tease me about misbehaving (I promise, I was a perfect child). I was born with naturally curly hair, and it looks pretty wild at times (due to the humidity in FL). He would laugh and say that he could mop the floor with my head. He became more affectionate as I grew up; always hugging me and kissing me on the cheek when we would say our goodbyes. I became a grandpa's girl.

Sadly, my grandpa's health is declining. He was diagnosed with throat cancer a couple of years ago and has been treated for it. He's lost a lot of weight, and he's become very ornery. It breaks my heart to see him this way. He's not my same grandpa anymore. Two weeks ago, he was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. He had to have a tube put in his lung to the drain the fluid, and he was released to a nursing home soon after. The plan was for him to receive rehab while he was in the home, and then return to his home with my grandma where she would continue to care for him. He lasted 2 days in the nursing home and had to return to the hospital due to a fever. We're waiting to see how he does.

I remember sitting on my grandpa's couch 3 years ago with Mr. Bossy and telling my grandparents that we were ready to start a family. When our first round of IVF worked, my grandma shared the good news with him, but he didn't completely understand. His mind is beginning to slip. I'm beginning to realize that my grandpa might not be alive for the birth of my children. Knowing that they will miss meeting such a great man is devastating to me.
If you pray, please pray for my grandpa.

XOXO,

Bossy

Back on track!

Aunt Flo arrived this morning!

I started experiencing some cramping yesterday. I didn't want to get too excited since my body is notorious for playing tricks. However when the cramping continued, I knew AF was about to make her grand appearance. I was SO excited when I saw a small amount of red on the toilet paper late yesterday afternoon. I was never able to miscarry on my own, and it was beginning to look like I would need Provera to help me get my first period after the d & c. It is such a relief knowing my body is getting back to normal.
And to think- I was prepared to have bloodwork done tomorrow in order to have my RE prescribe me Provera so that we could move on toward the FET. It just proves that I need to be more patient. Everything is in His hands. I'm going to stop doubting that everything will work out. He is in control.

Mr. Bossy and I are one step closer. I can feel it in my bones!!

When it rains....

It pours! [Ironically, it's raining in Central Florida this very moment.]

Still no period. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Nothing.

Good news- I'll have to take a blood test to rule out a pregnancy in order for my RE to prescribe me Provera. I can have my blood drawn locally and do not have to drive an hour just to give blood! It's looking like I'll be doing this on Monday.

Bad news- I'll have to take Provera for 10 days. It then can take up to 7-10 days after my last pill for my period to arrive. I still have to get one more period after that for my RE to allow to do a FET. So much for starting in February. Bummer.

To help make matters worse. Mr. Bossy is being laid off at the end of the month. His company told him over a year ago that they were phasing out his department. There was a chance he could interview for a different position in a different department. He's since gone on three interviews and hasn't received a job offer. His last day will be the last day of this month.

We have a Plan B. He originally started as a temp with this company. After a few months, he was offered a permanent position. The company is currently going through some budget cuts and would prefer to not have to pay benefits on so many employees. Instead, they'd like to hire more temps. Mr. Bossy is hoping to return to the company as a temp and then squeeze back through the company's doors.

We're scared beyond belief. If he has to be unemployed for a month or two, we'll survive financially (it will be tight, though). I'm torn about doing our FET. Since AF hasn't arrived yet, it's looking like we won't be able to begin until March at the earliest. The FET is already paid for since we went through the Attain Program, but I'm still concerned.

Do we still go through with the FET even if Mr. Bossy doesn't have a permanent position? We're not getting any younger and quite frankly, I'm tired of waiting around. Mr. Bossy wanst to proceed, and my heart is saying the same. My stupid head is the one I'm arguing with.

Wherefore art thou, Aunt Flo?

Happy 2012!!

Mr. Bossy & I rang in the New Year with friends and family last night (and early this morning). We've just returned from my MIL's after eating black-eyed peas and collard greens. Now, sadly, it's time to take down our Christmas decorations.

I'm so excited to begin the New Year off right. My New Year's resolution is to drink less caffeine (sweet tea is my vice) and more water. Day 1 (so far) has been a great success!

Mr. Bossy & I are also excited to say goodbye to 2011 and all of its sad memories. The good news, though, is that we now know what it takes for us to get pregnant! 2012 WILL be our year. I just need Aunt Flow to arrive. My RE told me that it would take 2-4 weeks after my d & c for my period to arrive. Tomorrow will mark 4 weeks, and there is still no sight of her.

I'll return to see my RE on Wednesday, and to say I'm anxious to begin our FET would be an understatement. Fingers crossed that she gives us the "all clear" to try again.

Waiting for AF, or....?

Well, not much to report thus far. AF is expected to arrive in a couple of days and I'm anxious to see if she will come or if my dreams will come true (hopefully the third time will be the charm!).

I know that I was/am a little skeptical about this time around, but I went ahead and POAS yesterday. No surprise that it was BFN. I wish that I had started temping a long time ago so that I would have something tangible to either give me hope or tell me not to get my hopes up. Trust me, if I don't get KU this month, a BBT will be the FIRST thing I buy! ~ and another OPK. ;o)

Mr. CB is starting to get a little anxious too. He keeps asking me if "I feel it coming." ~ meaning AF. The wierd thing is is I havn't been moody like I usually am right before AF. My appetite has picked up, but that has been that way for a few weeks now (I'm attributing it to the holidays). I'm also having some sticky CF...maybe only 1 dry day since the big O, which is also unusual for me at this time of the month. I just don't know anymore.

Somebody...please help!

FINALLY!!!!!

AF has finally decided to show up... I guess the spotting last month was just her way of sending a Post Card... She's so funny... o.O

I am actually glad to see her finally arrive. Normally I wouldnt be, but when you have PCOS and are TTC, AF is a sign that things (inside) may actually be working... Just maybe.

So now we wait. I am definitely going to use the OPKs this month. I am determined to cook up a Turkey of our own ;)

With that said, I have a funny photo to share. Someone posted it on FB, so I don't have credit info for it... But if you know where it came from, let me know!!!

Greetings...

From Aruba! My fellow buds, this place is absolutely beautiful. We've gone parasailing, jet-skiing, and snorkeling. The sand is white and the water is clear and blue.

I was hoping that AF wouldn't show up for her expected appointment on the 18th, but alas, she surprised me early by coming today. =o( I'm okay about it I guess. I suppose that a plus side to it is that I can do all the activities we want without any worry.

Mr. CB surprised me by telling me a couple of weeks ago that he's 100% ready and committed to TTC, whereas before we had just been going with the flow, so to speak - you know how men are before they commit. So we'll see where that leads.

Spotting: Day 6 and my Emotional State

Yup, that's right... What I thought was AF seems to be a bit of a false alarm - or even AF incognito. Who knows?! All I know is that I have spotted for 6 days straight - ONLY when I wipe. It's got a light brown tint to it, and sort of comes and goes. I wasted two, perfectly good, pads that didn't get so much as a stain on them. This has NEVER happened to me before... And honestly, I don't know what to make of it.

I tried doing a little research on my situation, and read that it could possibly mean I am/was ovulating. That might explain it, since I recently got back on Metformin and started a strict diet to lose some weight (-7lbs). I also read it could be a hormonal imbalance. I have no idea. I am thinking of waiting a few weeks to see if AF shows, or if I POAS again (just for shits and giggles - I highly doubt I'm KU).

One thing is for sure... With all this period or no period fiasco, and other personal things that occurred with my family, my EDD (well, what would've been, anyway) came and went. It would've been Wednesday, the 12th. Can you believe it? I've come a long way since that's surprise BFP back in February. On top of the fact that it has been an INSANE year - at least for me. Bittersweet, you might say, from start until present day. I am kind of ready for it to be over, but who knows what these last few months have in store for us? Only time will tell...

I am also kind of desensitized to this whole TTC after a loss thing. Sort of numb, you might say. So many people around me are either pregnant or giving birth. I've just learned to put my own "issues" aside, and truly be happy for the new, and repeat, mommies in my life. I can't be happier for my fellow Buds (especially Cactus Bud, who was due around the same time as I) who have recently given birth to their LOs, and for those who are expecting. I am confident that my day will come too. Maybe, just maybe, this has all been a test. I have always been so accustomed to getting my way, and getting what I want when I want it (total Diva, I know), and maybe this is God's way of telling me to step back and look at the big picture, for a moment. It's not all about me, and that's more than OK. When it's my turn, I know everything will work itself out. I just know it.

Staying positive :)

False alarm?

Today is day 3. But not of a full blown AF... More like a light, brown, spotting when I wipe. I have worn a couple of pads, and nothing has ended up either of them (not even the one I wore all day to work). I don't have any cramping, or anything, and the spotting has been very mild. I don't know what to make of this... I guess the only thing I can do is wait. :-/

I was wondering If this has happened to any of my fellow Buds or readers... I would be happy to read about other experiences with a situation like mine.

Miracles do happen :)

Well, we are back from our Mini-Vacation, so I thought I would post my latest report. After almost 5 months, AF has reappeared. I guess she found out we were heading to Disney for the weekend, and wanted to join us. I hoped for a Disney Miracle, and (in a way) I got one,

I started spotting yesterday while at the park and though it's still very light today - mostly brownish and light - I am glad to see her return :) This is good news for my TTC journey. The metformin is working!!!

Mr. DBud and I are planning to officially and actively TTC this month (i.e. look at ovulation days, use OPKs, etc) to see if we can get a sticky one this time. Here's hoping!!! :)

Hard to believe it's finally here...

Well the vacation that I've been planning since February is finally here! We leave super early tomorrow morning and Mr. Curly Bud and I are so excited that sleep has been difficult the past couple of days. Aruba here we come!

AF is scheduled to arrive a couple of days before we leave to come home (around the 18th). We'll see if the BD delays AF's arrival for a while...preferably the FULL 9 months this time.

I'm taking my laptop on vacay since the hotel has free wi-fi and will continue to post down there.

AF has arrived Earlier

So today AF arrived and it has only been 41 days!! What! That is good in that maybe my cycles will start to regulate instead of being 70+ days apart. Maybe just maybe my eating healthy is doing the trick in helping my hormones therefore my PCOS and hypothyroidism symptoms improve!! Not too bad I would say!!

A little update...

First off, I'd like to thank Cactus Bud for the warm welcome! I am excited and honored to be a part of this family.

AF came back last Sunday. My first one since the m/c. On one hand I'm happy because I'm one month closer to TTC again, on the other...hey, it's Aunt Flo right? =o)

On the 19th I went to the doc's office for labs to find out why I've had "recurrent miscarriages." I called on Tuesday just to see how long it takes the results to come back and was told by the next day. I gave them until Friday just in case my OB was in the hospital or delivering. I called twice Friday; first thing and about 4pm. At close to 6pm the nurse called and told me that they couldn't find where I even came for the blood work or that it was sent to the lab! ARGH! I am so frustrated. I've been worrying about those results for a week and then it looks like I'll have to have ELEVEN more vial drawn and wait another week! I like my OB but her office sucks sometimes.

I went to the BF's baby shower today. Let me tell you, that was tough for me. I knew I had to go because I would have regretted it if I hadn't. But it was like a punch in the gut to watch her open all those presents and having everyone ooh and ahh. Have any Buds ever gone through something like this? Any suggestions on how to cope?

Travels with AF

I have been very lucky to be on vacation the majority of July and enjoying being able to focus less on no baby. I have finished reading Unsung Lullabyes which I would say is a must read to anyone going through infertility. I loved reading the whole book and I thought was great how it went over all the emotional side of each stage of infertility even the mental/emotional parts after you have a baby.

So as for vacation I have been working diliegently on my tan and would say I am successfully dark and relaxing and enjoying friends and family. I got to go visit my friend in California who just had her baby and was able to help out so she could get some much needed rest. It is always fun to hold a newborn and have them snuggle up to you, I think that is my favorite stage by far! Then I was able to go to a family reunion and hang out with the little cousins around the ages of 2 and 4 which was soo much fun to see them discovering things and getting soo excited about stuff, probably my next favorite stage.

Inbetween my trips AF arrived and hung around for about 5 days which was pretty average and it has been about 70 days or 10 weeks. So at least there seems to be some consistency of an average 3 month span between AF. We will have to see what the RE thinks at our first appointment this Thursday.

FINALLY!!!!

AF FINALLY decided to show her (ugly) face!!! It was about time :-/ and the cramps have already begun.

I am so glad that we can continue TTCing now that I started a new cycle. It really sucks to have to sit and wait for AF to show, not having any idea when she will.

I knew she would eventually show up, seeing as I even cracked open a box of digitals and peed on one. I wasn't surprised to read "Not Pregnant" on the pretentious little screen, but a part of me still held on to a gleam of hope. Well, c'est la vie! A new cycle has begun, and it's time to get in gear.

I am planning to start taking better care of myself, and hopefully improve my chances that way. Only time will tell if we're meant to be parents or not. We are leaving it up to the big man upstairs ;)

Anyway, hope everyone enjoys there long weekend!!! AF showed up just in time to slightly ruin mine, though in the end it's bittersweet :)

AF May Be Arriving

So I just counted back to the last time AF came and that was March 12th so yep sounds about right a 68 day cycle!! I have been feeling like my boobs were a bit bigger and I have been craving lots of chocolate so I figured she would be coming or I was pregnant either one. Of course the more likely of the two is AF and this morning when I wiped there was a tiny bit of blood so she may or may not be coming or maybe implantation bleeding??!! Haa ha ahaa isn't it funny how we like to torture ourselves with maybes and hopefullies when it isn't true. Have you seen the show Pregnant in Heels? I think it is the most ridiculous show due to the Maternity Concierge's clients are so selfish and rarely seem excited or want a baby but of course can get knocked up without any trouble. The Maternity Concierge has been doing IVF to get pregnant and the first round she ended up with an ectopic pregnancy and they were starting her second round and she was feeling funny and they checked and sure enough she was pregnant. Now that is pretty exciting and it always makes me feel a little hope but that pesky negativity in me always reminds me they don't have the same issues as we did just the same IVF experience.

Oh on a positive note my friend who also needs to do IVF to have another baby wrote me and told me she is getting to start this Friday. I was soo excited for her but also a little jealous that she gets to start and I have to wait but mostly excited for her good luck and news!!

Inches Yes, Pounds No

So it's been a crazy couple weeks for me. Been trying to get back into the groove of things, but that's been a challenge in itself. With working, trying to work out and moving it's been a mess.

They, being the military, keep moving the things around with the move date and things we have to do.... which doesn't help cause you can't do anything until they get things straight. So we finally know where we are moving and now we are starting all the paperwork process. Then before you know it we will be moving. I hope you will be patient with me as I trying to make it through this moving process... :) pretty please.

So on to sorta good news on my progress. I haven't lost any weight, nor have I gained... so that is a major plus. BUT I have lost inches... not that I've measured myself, but usually when I put my pants on fresh after being washed they are tight... this time they weren't. Then I put my shorts on from last year that were tight... and guess what.... yeap they weren't :) so happy. I've learned you can't just go by the scale when trying to loose weight cause sometimes the inches go and sometimes the pounds go. I am happy either way. Makes me feel good.

The other thing that is sorta good is I think my AF is trying to start... which yeah I still haven't gotten. I think it is because of stress. Which is shocking cause I didn't realize I was stressed. I handle things pretty well and with my job (that most think is stressful) I feel it is a stress reliever. I know call me weird, but my friend says I just handle it so well that I can overlook the fact that I am :( and that would explain why I am so tired, run down, and perhaps why I haven't gotten my cycle yet. So I've promised to do something... like take a bubble bath or sit out by the pool every week... to help relax my body :)

Well, I hope you all are doing good... and if not I pray things will turn around. I have to catch up on everyone's stuff :( sorry. It's just been crazy and it will till I get things sorted out with this move and whatnot's.

Strangest TTC thoughts ever

Some of my thoughts the past few included: "Oh crap, did I remember to take my birth control?" and "Come on AF show up now!"

What kind of TTC thoughts are these? The world of infertility is very crazy and can definitely turn you around at times. While these thoughts would definitely be counterproductive to a normal person TTC, for someone going through IVF it is a normal thought. I have just trained my brain to where all this is normal and at least Mr. Planner Bud and I can joke about it. We went out with friends over the weekend and I had to take my pill while at dinner. The husband was thoroughly confused and asked, "I thought you were trying to get pregnant, what happened?" Mr. Planner bud looks at me and says, "Crap, this is what we have been doing wrong for over a year and a half."

I finished taking the BCP on Sunday and am now waiting for AF to show it. This is another crazy feeling. I have been hoping for AF to come for the last two cycles. This is not what one normally wishes for when desperately trying to have a child. Hopefully AF shows her lovely face today; if not, I will have to call the RE's and go in for some bloodwork. I am just beyond excited to start stimming and get this show on the road. Come on I have this huge pile of needles waiting to be used:

March 30, 2011

FINALLY!!!!!

AF finally showed up! I haven't been this happy to see her in a long time... It has already been a little over 6 weeks since our miscarriage, and while AF is a painful reminder of what an emotional journey this has been so far... I know my journey hasn't been as long and difficult as some of my fellow buds and readers, but it really sucks when it actually happens to you :-/

I am fine with it... But the only thing I don't like is being in limbo, like I said in my last post. I appreciate all the T&P, and want to say that I do see the silver lining... I am just praying for some clarity in the meantime.
