In my last post, I described the symptoms I'm having during my 2WW. As of the other day, I hadn't experienced the very first pregnancy symptom I had in my last cycle, so I didn't mention it in my last post, and the symptom is so kooky that I was kind of afraid to mention it. Until it happened today.
Let me explain.
I am not a gifted singer by any means, but that doesn't stop me from singing to the Glee soundtrack whenever I commute. And by some miracle I can hit the Lea Michele high notes. It's nothing I'd ever do in front of a human being, but in a car by myself I admit that I sing all the way to work and all the way home.
Want to know the first sign I had that I was pregnant for my first donor cycle?
I couldn't hit the high notes.
It was the strangest thing. It's like my voice just gave out in the higher range (or whatever the right term is--forgive me Diva Bud!) That literally was the first sign that something was different from all my other IVFs. I can't remember how many days after the 3DT it was but it was sometime between 1 and 8 days post 3dt.
Now before you go blaming the supplemental estrogen and PIO I was taking, let me explain further:
Even after my loss, when my HCG was positive for a couple months, I still couldn't sing. I wasn't on PIO, and I wasn't on estrogen. After my second D&C I noticed that my high voice returned.
So of course with this cycle I was waiting for the voice change and have been singing my heart out during my commute. My voice was actually quite effortless and I was hitting higher notes than usual (I'm sure I sounded like a cat in heat, but you get my drift). Even as of this morning I was on fire.
And then around 7:30 this evening I drove to a restaurant to get take-out. I wasn't even thinking about my voice, but I went to hit a high note and couldn't. I rushed home to look at the HPT that I'd peed on around 6:30pm. I'd thrown it in the trash because it looked negative, but upon very very very close inspection, I think I might see a line. We're talking massive magnification (strong glasses + strong contacts + bright lights). Yeah it could be an evap line, but none of the other 2 in the trash (from this morning and last night) show the same line.
I may be hallucinating AND delusional. I'm still prepared for the worst, but I'm feeling hopeful tonight.
Will let you know tomorrow.
Golden Bud
I've got my fingers crossed for you! Come on, Baby GB!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you!!! Fingers and toes crossed!
ReplyDeleteGolden Bud, you are NOT crazy... As women, our voices are affected a lot by our hormones/cycles. It could have something to do with it... :) Sending positive vibes and baby dust your way!!!!!
